Is there a way to combine this—

—with this?

(Picture Gary Oldman saying the words in the first gif, and then try to take anything else seriously ever again.)
The only thing I am side-eying about Joan Watson is that they’ve taken her army background away and replaced it with her being a surgeon who lost her license (why? You can still have her be an ex-soldier and keep the loss of her license if the conflict, whatever it turns out to be, is necessary to you). Not the fact that she’s Lucy Liu, who is quite frankly gorgeous and kickass, because guess what? Women can have bromances too! And if you ship John/Sherlock (which I do) Watson’s personality is still there, the dynamic is still there. Care about whether or not they get the tone of their relationship right rather than the fact that Watson is a woman omg.
In conclusion, internalized misogyny: still not cute. Sit down and wait for the actual episodes to come out, yes?
